For art smart dylan’s mom came and taught us about Georges Seurat. He made pointillism so we used markers to do pointillism with outlines of one of his famous paintings.
Also we had an author visit Where Linda Sue Park came and told us about her new book Prairie Lotus. She also taught us some of the things she does that have to do with her korean culture. Korean culture

In writing we finished our Fox essays. We are starting new ones about picture books that we can pick.

In art smart we learned about helen Frankenthaler. It was fun. Relly fun because we got to paint with water colors.

We finale finished role dall. We started reading texts about different countries. We were seeing how different authors put information into categories.
In writing we are continuing essays. We wrote essays about how we could change the school, our favorite holiday, and about recess.
We started in economics class. We had a special volunteer from Junior Achievement come to teach us about economics.
In math we did started decimals and had the 5 min multiplication test. We also learned three new games.

On Monday we had no school because it was Martin Luther King Jr. Day. On Tuesday Ms. Bierbower came back after having the flu.
In math we started working on decimals. Decimals are simple for me! We helped people do fractions.
We did Roald Dahl and Ms. Bierbower read us poetry books. In writing we learned how to write fast essays comparing and contrasting two stories.
We herd kids played their instruments to find out how to make the volume loud or quiet and how to make high or low pitch.

In math this week we did fractions. We used pretend egg cartons to find equivalent fractions.
We used tuning forks and ping pong balls. We hit the tuning fork on our shoes and put it near the ping pong ball. The ping pong ball moved. It moved because the vibration from the tuning fork went to the ping pong ball.
We read Roald Dahl books this week. Ms. Bierbower read books to us about figuring out who we are. My favorite one we read was The Junkyard Wonders.
We posted our first essays to Seesaw. Then we wrote another essay about something we had an opinion about. Eliott wrote about how people shouldn’t hunt animals.
We don’t have school for two weeks because it is winter break. Instead of having a winter party we are making things for Fill a Heart 4 Kids.

We did not have writing some of the week. On Friday we wrote about what we are thankful for.
We read an article about native americans and we are reading about events in illinois history today.
This week we had a field trip to the Mitchell native amarican museum. We learned about the different areas like the plains and woodlands. We also made talking sticks.
