Right now we are really amazed by the orchestra performance and we are nearing the end of the year. Plus we have a field trip next week so try and read next week's blog to learn what we learned and what happened at our long field trip to the Shedd Aquarium.
MS.Bierbower just finished reading Love That Dog for read aloud. Now she is reading Hate That Cat, by the same author of Love That Dog. Nth books are about a boy named Jack. In Love That Dog, Jack is embarrassed because he writes poems and he thinks that only girls write poetry. Then he begins to love poetry! He learns so much, meets a poet, and has a great year at school. Then in hate that cat his previous teacher moves up a grade, and is his teacher again. He talks about how he hates this on fat black cat. In math we are finishing up unit 6, and we are reviewing what we have learned this year. We are reviewing stuff like our division strategy, multiplication, and the doubling and halving strategy. The doubling and halving strategy is for multiplication. If the problem is 240 x 4 you can double 240 and half past four. So the equation would be 480 x 2 which is much easier than 240 x 4. In science we just finished our part with studying the dwarf african frogs which are in our classroom in mr howes class they have fiddler crabs in ms forests room they have millipedes and in ms michals class has beatles On Thursday, we had our final orchestra concert. Chamber orchestra played two songs, the other orchestra played two songs, then at the end both orchestras played Linus And Lucy together. No more lessons this year! Since our rclass got pulled from the bucket in the golden anchor raffle, Mrs.Hutchison came to our classroom and we had an hour of free time! MOst of the boys played Ninja cat on their computer, and most of the girls were drawing with their computers! We still get one more half hour of free time with Mr. Hoffhiemer, because our class got picked twice! We are nearing the end of the year and there are only two weeks left in the school year and we are all super excited for summer on the last day of school we have an awesome picnic!
